Auburn Family Health Center, P.C. (AFHC) Physicians and Physician Assistants continue to make patient care and satisfaction their primary focus! They are dedicated to improving their knowledge and medical expertise as the common goal is to serve our community with quality and excellence! With this being said, the Physicians and Physician Assistants have devoted much time in vital programs and training courses that will positively impact patient care.
Drs. Ensz, Farris, Meade, Gill and Zaruba are currently certified in the following programs: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), along with maintaining their continuing education hours to be acknowledged as Board Certified Physicians with the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM).
The Physician Assistants who provide 24/7 coverage in the Emergency Department at Nemaha County Hospital (NCH) are employed by AFHC. The Physician Assistants also maintain current certification in ACLS, ATLS, and BLS. The three PA’s play a crucial role in patient care and these same certifications endorse the high level of care that is expected when a patient presents to NCH.
The training courses mentioned above provide the Physician/Physician Assistants the latest information and valuable tools with regards to patient care. It is necessary to be at the forefront of the medical field, and these courses offer cutting edge technology and skills that prove to be beneficial in treating patients efficiently and effectively. Dr. Ensz added, “I feel it is important to give our patients and their families the reassurance that they are receiving the same care that they would receive in a large city. With this state-of-the-art training that is offered throughout the U.S., we are able to provide a standardized way to care for the patient.”
In addition to the above certifications, Dr. Meade and Dr. Zaruba are registered medical examiners on the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration's (FMCSA) National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners. They are able to perform DOT/CDL physicals in accordance with the new FMCSA guidelines.
